Tristan has worked for the North West Shelf Flatback Turtle Conservation Program (NWSFTCP) since 2020. His role includes working with partners and stakeholders to address threats identified to the North West Shelf flatback turtle and other marine turtle species.
Having worked in conservation and environmental management across Australia and the world, Tristan effectively builds relationships with Traditional Custodian, community, government, non-government and industry stakeholders to address issues such as fox management, artificial light pollution and the application of policy across Western Australia.
"The North West Shelf flatback turtle faces major threats across its distribution largely due to the extensive and expanding significant developments along the Pilbara coastline - we need to work together to reduce their impacts."
The Government of Western Australia acknowledges the traditional owners throughout Western Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures; and to Elders both past and present.
