Eighty Mile Beach Marine Park is jointly managed by DBCA and the Karajarri, Nyangumarta and Ngarla people, who have recognised native title determinations for the lands and waters in and adjacent to the Marine Park. Together they monitor and manage one of the key natural values of the Marine Park, flatback turtles, that annually migrate to the area to mate offshore before nesting along Eighty Mile Beach. The NWSFTCP supports DBCA’s Eighty Mile Beach Marine Park program, as well as the Karajarri and Nyangumarta Warrarn IPA Rangers, who work collaboratively to deliver the annual flatback turtle nest monitoring.
