Yawuru Nagulagun Roebuck Bay is a key foraging ground for the North West Shelf flatback turtles and the primary site at which the NWSFTCP monitors in-water, foraging turtles in collaboration with the Yawuru joint management DBCA rangers and the Nyamba Buru Yawuru (NBY) country managers. In addition to foraging adult female turtles, the site provides access to male and juvenile flatbacks, two demographics that have never been studied before. The monitoring of this foraging site provides the Program, the Traditional Custodians, and the Marine Park joint management team critical information on their local turtle populations.
